Katherine Moriwaki and I just finished up leading the latest of our “MIDI Scrapyard Challenge” workshops in Stirling, Scotland for the 6 Cities Design Festival. Above is a picture of the “Player Piano Printer” someone made out of an old printer and some cups and aluminum foil. A pretty nice creation that produced some really cool sounds. This coming week we will be presenting a paper we wrote about the workshops for the NIME (New Interfaces for Musical Expression) Conference which starts in NYC on Wednesday. If you are coming to the conference we will see you there! Also, I’ll be doing a talk about my work and performance of SimpleTEXT with Tim Redfern on Tuesday, June 5th at the Upgrade NYC at Eyebeam! Don’t forget to bring your cellphone or laptop to interact with the performance and see you at the show!!!!
