TS Wireless launched a few years back and was a stand-alone server providing people in public spaces with royalty free ambient music and sound works. This project was uncovered after some discussion on Smart Mobs about mobile wireless hotspots. That is if the concept is particularly innovative or if it’s the same as running laptops in ad-hoc mode and having people connect to them. From the site:

Today saw the first implementation of generative streams, live re-composing ambient sound pieces over TS Wireless. Memory Effect is an emergent series of compositions derived from GPS coordinates and anecdotal sonic references to a sense of “place” and one’s temporal relationship to scalable references as marked out by GPS receivers and the satellites they receive data from.
