I’m co-leading the Communectivity Workshop with Amy Franceschini of Futurefarmers from May 10-14 in Gent, Belgium. The workshop is focused on hacking public space where participants (10-15 people – application deadline is April 17th) will work in groups to create a public installation to be deployed on the streets of Gent. Workshop activities will include creating rapid prototypes of concepts, collective brainstorming, hacking and circuit bending, and subverting existing architectures, public spaces, and collective practice. We will also focus on challenging accepted forms of use of mobile and wireless technologies to create playful interventions that allow members of the public to participate. Workshop participation is open to anyone interested in artistic practice and technology. Technology skills are not necessary and a diversity of skills and practice are welcome and encouraged! Application form is on the link above! Also: there will be a special performance of SimpleTEXT in Gent on the 14th of May! Hope you can make it!
