Simon Faithfull in the UK is doing some great work. I really like the subtlety of the projects on the site, especially some of the ideas like SpaceCar, (sketch above) featuring a MkII Ford Escort Ghia in a geo-stationary orbit directly above an art gallery on Earth. This would be done with an “extremely long tethered cable” and “from a socket in the gallery space a power cable will run across the floor and then up the tethering cable. This will ultimately connect to the car in space and enable the cars headlights to remain burning and the radio playing.” Simple and great. Another nice project is “AirStrip One“, (pictured above) featuring illuminations in a public park that resemble an airplane runway.
