Made it to Helsinki after missing our ferry and only getting about 3 hours of sleep. Over the course of ISEA 2004 I think we’ve gotten about 20 hours of sleep in 6 days – yikes. Last nite was cool – above is a picture of Kaki‘s project Recoil from the fashion show on the closing event of the Tallinn Wearable conference. The models were great and demonstrated how high-powered magnets in the suits restricted movement and signified the end of utopianistic convenient lifestyles. There were lots of other acts in the show including the Medulla Itimata, a necklance with a shared video connection between two people. Now I’m in the conference center in Helsinki, listening to keynotes, and about to pass out! Lots of running around. Oh, BTW, I’m giving a talk in two hours…….
