Thomas Edward’s project “Touch” (2007) reminds me of a homeade version of “In Touch” created at the MIT Media Lab’s Tangible Media Group led by Hiroshi Ishii in 1997. It’s funny that 10 years later concepts repeat themselves, using pretty similar tech although I think the “In-Touch” interface of the rollers is a nicer one than simple servo motors. You can watch the demo video of “Touch” here and of “In-Touch” here. It would be great to see what the next level of this project could be, although I think Alexei Shulgin got it right with his Fuck-You-Fuck-Me project.
