The Mitsubishi Tora designed by Duncan Phillpotts at the UMEA Institute of Design in Sweden, is a car designed for the aging population: “Tora is a sporting coupe designed around the needs of the mature driver. The car contains features that will make it easier to use for the majority of people, young and old. These features include those that aid access to the cabin such as a flat floor with no sill, large scissor doors and a high roof.” Also included in this last year’s design wrap up is Luu Chan Ninh’s “X Pro 03”, a car designed for the expanding Chinese metropolis and an “Ambulance Airplane” (don’t they call it a helicopter?) to save people in those hard to reach places.
