No People, Devices Only #23, 2026
The “Device Inversion” series is an ongoing exploration of our paradoxical relationship with portable technology, personal surveillance, and the physical choreography of urban public space. Set primarily against the rhythmic backdrop of the New York City transit network—from crowded subway cars to platform waiting areas—these works investigate how ubiquitous personal devices shape our bodily postures, isolation, and digital reliance. By capturing alternative gestures, device-free contemplation, and uncanny moments where physical infrastructure and human hardware intersect, the series questions the boundaries between our physical bodies and our digital extensions. These interventions act as subtle disruptions in daily routines, highlighting the quiet intimacy and occasional alienation of contemporary public transit commuters.
Each museum-quality archival pigment print preserves a fleeting moment of urban choreography, inviting viewers to reflect on how technology mediates our presence in shared civic spaces. Accompanied by a hand-signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity, these works offer collectors a rare window into contemporary digital culture and institutional art practice.
